An Editorial House

How we live
shapes
where we live.

Editor's Introduction

And where we live shapes how we live.

Jungle House is an editorial house and living journal about the relationship between life and the spaces we make for it: art, objects, food, travel, hospitality, memory, and the rooms we make around the people we love.

What follows is arranged the way one might hang a small private collection: a painting, a philosophy, a quiet room, a portrait. Turn slowly.

Marginalia

Pay attention to ordinary life, in the quiet hours and in the most exciting moments. The room speaks to you. It tells you what it needs.

Statement

Life is the canvas.
We decide what to make of it.

Jungle House pays attention to what we gather, the sounds we hear, what we bring home, and what we carry forward.

Butterfly Woman — original painting by Denver Dukes. A woman with eyes closed, a large moth resting across her chest, surrounded by pale blue insects on a saffron yellow ground.

Donnamarie Dukes

Founder · Creative Director · Editor

Donnamarie Dukes created Jungle House as a place to look closely at how we live and what we make around ourselves: rooms, tables, collections, rituals, and the things we carry forward.

Closing note

Nothing here is quite finished.
Leave room for life.
